Audiometry.<\/strong> This hearing exam measures your ability to hear different sounds, pitches and frequencies. It can determine the nature and extent of your hearing loss and whether you will benefit from hearing aids or surgery.<\/li>\n\n\n\n

Auditory Brainstem Response (ABR).<\/strong> This test provides information about the electrical activity in the auditory pathway between the inner ear and the brain and measures a person\u2019s hearing sensitivity.<\/li>\n\n\n\n

Electrocochleography.<\/strong> This technique measures the inner ear\u2019s response to sounds by placing an electrode in your ear. It can help with the diagnosis of Meniere\u2019s disease and other balance and hearing disorders.<\/li>\n\n\n\n

Electronystagmography (ENG).<\/strong> This test measures eye movements to determine how the vestibular system is functioning. Electrodes are placed around the eye to record electrical activity and detect involuntary rapid eye movements.<\/li>\n\n\n\n

Otoacoustic Emissions (OAE).<\/strong> During this procedure, a small probe is inserted into the ear to determine the response of hair cells in the inner ear.<\/li>\n\n\n\n

Videonystagmography.<\/strong> This technique, which detects involuntary eye movements, involves measuring the response of your eyes to moving dots, head and body movements and water or air in the ears.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
